Laura Berzas, M.Ed., CI and CT, SC:L
Laura Berzas is the co-owner of L&N Interpreting, Inc. She has been an interpreter in private practice since 1994. She received her Associate of Arts degree in Educational Interpreting and went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, as well as a Master's degree in Educational Administration. Laura has taught interpreting and American Sign Language (ASL) at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. After earning a Certification of Interpretation (CI) and Certification of Transliteration (CT) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), she began pursuring her Legal Specialist's Certificate, and received her SC:L in 2003. Laura has served on the Louisiana RID Board of Directors and the Interpreter Certification Board. She currently interprets in the Atlanta metropolitan area, primarily in medical, legal and conference settings.
Noel Berzas, CI and CT, NAD IV
L&N Interpreting co-owner Noel Berzas has been an interpreter in private practice since 1998. Noel’s native language is American Sign Language, and he is a proponent of ASL and Deaf culture. Receiving an Associate of Arts degree in 1994 in Educational Interpreting, Noel went on to interpret in the community in a variety of settings. Noel holds his RID certifications CI and CT as well as his NAD IV. In addition, Noel has experience working at a school for the deaf, and has earned his EIPA certification. Noel currently interprets for the Deaf community in metro Atlanta. He primarily works in mental health, medical, and vocational settings.
